Do you want to hit your driver farther and straighter on a consistent basis?  If so please read carefully.  You see the key to distance and accuracy has nothing to do with muscle mass or how big you are.  It has everything to do with club head speed and balance.  I weigh 170, I'm 6' tall and I hit my driver 290-330 yds consistently.  I generate leverage with good balance, tourque and club head speed.  You can increase your driving yardage as well.
The easiest way to pick up 5-10 yds off the tee is to make sure your shoulders are turned so that your back is facing the target at the top of your swing.  This is were tourque comes into play.  You want to minimize your waist movement while maximizing your shoulder turn.  You can hear that from any pro.  But they won't tell you one of the secrets to distance.....keep your hands in front of your chest throughout the entire swing.  Try it.  It probably feels like your only taking a half swing.  You're not, as long as your shoulders are turned perpendicular to the ball and your back is facing the target.  This is what we refer to as being "connected" and it is the single best thing you can do for your golf swing.  Try it on your 100 yd. shots, I'll bet your trajectory is lower, spin rate is higher and you knock it closer to the hole more consistently.
Back to the Driver, you see club head speed is really generated through the hitting zone when your hand come down and release the club.  The faster you release the club through this area will determine the distance of your shot.  Back in the "Philosophy" portion of the website I used the "one handed drill" conotation to describe how the Law of
Centrifugal Force applies to the golf swing.  Just how you can place a golf ball in a bucket and swing it around, upside down and the ball won't fall out.  The same basic concept applies to the clubhead coming through the hitting area. I have numerous drills that really get this point across to the muscles and a one on one lesson is the best way to convey this particular concept, hopefully you were able to gain some insight into the physics of the swing.
