Equipment Do's and Don'ts
If you are even somewhat interested in golf and interested in purchasing some new equipment, chances are good that you'll drop an awful amount of money on golf equipment these days. My suggestion to almost everyone that is somewhat serious about golf - get professionally fitted for clubs before purchasing a set. You see about 95% of golfers looking to buy, normally purchase something right off the rack. If it was me, I'd put you on a "Lie Board" and get your "Specs" prior to the new equipment purchase, then decide a make and model and have the manufacture build your custom clubs. Only scratch players and professionals have standard loft and lie. For that matter, Singh, Mickelson, Funk, Perry, and many other touring professionals have clubs built to their specs because they do not have standard lofts and lies. Trust me on this one, invest an hour with your local PGA Professional and get fitted prior to purchase.
