Address
Address is very important because it involves everything that happens prior to initiating the swing. Including pre-shot routine, mind set as you approach the ball, posture and balance etc.
Everyone is different, so there is not just one way to address the ball, however, there are several important points that must be covered in order to execute a good golf shot. In my opinion, these are my suggestions:

Pull your club and stand directly behind the ball, on the same line as your target and slowly take a practice stroke, envisioning the exact, perfect trajectory and ball flight. Try to imagine the feeling of sending the ball down the perfect line with perfect balance and feel. The better you visualize the better the results. Golf is a game of senses, the better you feel your perfect shot, the more likely you are able to replicate it during the actual stroke or swing. |

Next, slowly walk into your shot, looking at your target. As you take your stance and set-up, alway be aware of your target, even when your looking down at your golf ball (this is called utilizing your 3rd eye). Now all you need to do is develop a "trigger" that tells your mind to replicate all the info and data you just gave it. At this point, the only thing your thinking about is your target. You are visualizing it clearly in your mind, all the while your mind is controling your muscles during the swing. In other words, no swing thoughts, no distracting thoughts, no thinking about the future results or negative thoughts of any kind, just target.

As far as the address, put your feet together and extend your arms with your club out in front of you, then bend from the waist until the club is soled with the ground. Now, move your feet to shoulder width with the ball positioned in the center of your stance. Good, now flex your knees and transfer about 60% of your weight on the balls of your feet. Most people will feel like they are more upright than normal, this is good because it allows your arms plenty of room to swing through without restriction. If you have a fairway wood or driver, do exactly the same thing except when you seperate your feet to shoulder width, move your back foot wider back a couple of inches. This will give you a wider base for the longer clubs, it will also move your center of gravity back behind the ball slightly to promote a "sweeping" motion to sweep the ball off the turf or tee. Just by making this one adjustment to your swing, you'll see improvement.
